What to Expect:
Where will my massage or body work session take place?
Your session will take place in a comfortable, quiet room. Soft music
will be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially
designed for your comfort.
Must I be completely disrobed?
Most techniques are traditionally performed with the client
unclothed, under a sheet; however, you may wear a dry bathing suit
or undergarments for your comfort. If you are receiving a Body
Treatment, bring an extra pair of undergarments to change into
after the session.
Will the therapist be present when I disrobe?
The therapist will leave the room while you undress relax onto the
table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
You and the therapist will discuss the desired outcome of your
session. This will determine which parts of your body will be
massaged. You will not be touched near your genitals (male or female)
or breasts (female).
What should I do during my massage or bodywork session?
Relax and make yourself comfortable. Feel free to discuss the service
with your therapist.
How will I feel after the session?
Most persons feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from
long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity.
After an initial period of feeling slowed down, many often experience
increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity.
This feeling can last for days.
Are there any medical conditions that would make massage
or bodywork inadvisable?
Before you begin your session, your practitioner will ask some general
health questions. It is very important that you inform the therapist
of any health problems or medications you are taking.
